# Atmospheric Anthropomorphism Rain just started showering, and in a few minutes, its intensity increased. I've noticed that every time I plan to go outside, it rains; otherwise, the clouds seem to be sleeping. It's amusing to think that the rains have mood swings too. When the cloud feels happy, it brightens and becomes clear. As it clears, it's able to see the vast expanse of water that attracts it. At that moment, it starts to absorb water. It consumes so much water that it becomes bulky and fat. The cloud has no self-regulation; it keeps absorbing water and becomes bulkier. After some time, it realizes it's overloaded. The poor cloud becomes sick, and its color turns dark. Then the rain starts pouring down uncontrollably – a kind of vomiting. At times, clouds become angry when they're overfilled and don't know what to do. They seem to mock each other and start fighting, causing loud bursts of noise, which we know as thunder. The rain that pours may or may not be good, depending on the location from which the clouds consumed the water. The poor clouds also have acidity problems, and there's no antacid like ENO available up in the sky. All the acid in their 'stomach' is also poured out in the rain. It's fascinating to note that clouds aren't intelligent enough to understand whether the water they consume is good or not. They simply absorb it, get filled up, become bulky, and when it's uncontrollable, they spill out. If it's from an industrial site, the consequences can be deadly. If it's from an oceanic area, the rain can be too salty. If it's from a city's backwater lake, only God knows what kind of water flows through them – it's totally unpredictable. The rains are changing. The clouds are undergoing evolution, just like we did thousands of years ago. The so-called brilliant minds call it climate change. And it's true. I call it the 'forced evolution of the atmosphere.' [* Anthropomorphism refers to the attribution of human traits, emotions, or intentions to non-human entities, such as animals, plants, or in this case, clouds and weather phenomena.]
